Hello creators, i just wanted to say that i loooooooooooooooooooove

there, justin is sooooooooo cute i just love 'em and i think the
ligthing
rod should have an gay affair, you know, cuz hes all about girls
he can come out too.... well i say good bye, love u guys ure
doing a great job, now batman and aquaman wont be that lonley....
from costa rica: L .O. L. paulo
Dear
Paulo,
Thank you for your kind and humerous praise of Boy Meets Hero!
We're glad you think that Justin is cute, that means we are doing
our jobs right! As far as Zap-Man having a gay experience, don't
hold your breath! With his obnoxious personality, he's definately
not anyone we'd like playing for our team... Even if he is well
endowed, (at least according to Derek!)
Take care and let us know if you ever catch Batman in Aquaman's
hunky arms!
Much love,

Dear Chayne and Russell,
I'm so impressed. The story is funny, and very real on so many levels. I'm liking
the characters. I find myself laughing out loud with it's humor. It's so you
two. Keep it up. I feel you have a strong story line going on here. Oh yeah,
the artwork always constantly amazes me.
Love, Mom
Thank

Dear

It is always very cool to get compliments from other web comic creators.
It takes a lot of effort to put these things together so I really appreciate
hearing from you that you like our work! I also wanted to let you know that
I got a kick out of your own super heroines and hope that is going well for
you.
Anyway, take care and best of luck to you in everything that you do!

in the second edition of "save me gay heroes!" check it out.
i love the site. will familiarize more later.

Andrew,
Thanks so much for mentioning me and Boy Meets Hero last friday on
queerty.com. I'm all about shameless promotion :)
BTW, I love your blog (i'm obsessed, I probably check it ten times
a day :) Hope you liked our comic, we plan on keeping it online
for a few more months and then we want to get it published in a graphic
novel format. We're just over halfway done with the story so
we're hoping by next summer we'll have something in print.
Anyway, thanks again!

Hey Chayne,
I happened to come across your comics when i was searching on
Google. I had no idea that comics like these existed and its
really nice to know there is comics
like these because not only do they have really good storylines there simple
to read and understand. It may sound a little strange when i say that
comics are sometimes hard to read but i have come across comics before that
have complicated
storylines and the characters are hard to understand and relate with. Your
characters however are the complete opposite there easy to relate with because
some of the
characters seem to lead normal lifestyles yet they are leading a superhero
life which is filled with alot of action which makes the comics interesting
to read.
Its also nice to see some gay characters in your comics because this isn't
a very common thing in comics the superheros are always associated with being
very
manly. I think it's good that you combine masculinity with a gay character
because it shows that a man can have masculinity and be gay which is often
believed that
this isn't true. I think its a good idea if you have straight characters aswell
because its promotes that gay and straight people can be friends and this is
something which is often not seen in television, films, books let alone comics.
I think you can learn something from these comics about equality for gay people
especially any straight readers. I think you have really thought out the characters
well and they all have a good story behind them which is good. It would be
really nice if you published some comic books sometime because i think they
would be
a really popular choice especially among regular readers. Your artwork is also
very impressive which just adds to all the good aspects of the comics.
I think this comic will go far once you publish some comicbooks. It has alot
of potential because your comics feature gay characters and have very good storylines.
The storyline is the main part of the comics that does it for me. There so interesting
to read!! So keep up the good work:) I'm really glad i came across this accidentally.
Sean x
Dear
Sean x,
Wow!
Thank you so much for your wonderful letter! We can't tell
you
enough how much we appreciate your kind words! Your comments about
Boy
Meets Hero reflect exactly what we are trying to accomplish!
It is so cool to receive e-mails such as yours. It helps more than
you
know! We have worked incredibly hard to make sure that Boy Meets
Hero
is a good as we can make it. We wanted to illustrate that there are
a
variety of gay people in the world and that we all have value! Some
of
us my be masculine, some are effeminate, while others are a nice
balance of the two. We want to embrace all the wonderful diversity
that makes people special, gay or straight!
The inspiration for Boy Meets Hero came from that fact that there
aren't very many gay themed comics that deal with the issues that
we
do. We wish that there were more main stream gay super heroes, and
so
by creating Blue Comet, we hope that he fills that void.
We are getting closer to the day that we can actually publish the
entire story of Boy Meets Hero in a graphic novel format. We still
have several pages to create until that day, but we continue to make
that our goal.
Thank you again. We're so glad that you came across Boy Meets Hero
and
that it inspired you to write us! It's people like you that make
this
project worthwhile! Take care and keep in touch!

Hey~
Just thought I would drop an e-mail and tell you guys that I think
your comic is quite impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if it
ended up being syndicated in paper one of these days. I do hope
that you have one or two straight guy characters in there that are
nice. Maybe someone for SunStar, a boyfriend, etc. I just
hope we don't end up seeing the comic making fun of straight guys the
way main stream comics have done to gay characters in the past. (Boy
meets Hero should be better than that.) It is nice to see gays
portrayed in a positive light, although I do wonder how acurrate it
is to real life at some points. (Perhaps I am simply jaded being
gay myself, lol.) Anyway, I should be getting back to creating
my designs for the temp job I have. Being a graphic artist may
not being paying all the bills right now, but at least it's something
I want to do and I'm not doing something I loath. I am sure you
two know all about that. Best of luck in your future endovours
and your comic.
Mr. Brian B.,
Macomb, IL.
Dear Brian,
Thank
you so much for your awesome e-mail! We really appreciate what
a fellow graphic artist has to say about Boy Meets Hero.
You
brought up a very good point about including straight characters
that are not jerks. (i.e. Zap-Man) and making fun of straight people;
we only plan to do that to our characters that deserve
it, gay
or straight! We do happen to have one straight character
who has
been talked about
in the comic, but has yet to show up in the story. Keep
a look out for an up-coming scene that features this very important
character.
As
far as Sunstar finding a real boyfriend of her own, that
is definately something we want to happen for her as the story
progresses.
We just don't know when yet. So don't worry, we have
the best
intentions
for
our characters in mind!
And
finally, thank you for mentioning that Boy Meets Hero might end
up syndicated in a paper
someday.
That would be awesome if it happened
and we can only hope!
So,
take care and keep in touch. Thanks again for taking the time
to write!

Hello Chayne,
By surfing (on one of the gay blog ) I found your website and read
the whole series
I am working at a comic book wholesaler distributing Diamond
imported stuff (comics, toys,..) but also French bandes dessinees
I read a lot of comics (from independent and Vertigo to mainstream
marvel and dc) like retro videogames and horror and sci fi series
Boy Meets Hero is fun, some the of the stories are a bit too
nasic for my taste but the gay jokes were fun (when they talked
with
their old neighbour on the beach)
I will keep reading it
Good work
Laurent 38 from Belgium
Hey
Laurent,
Thanks
for your e-mail! "Cute and fun" is just we strive for when
working on Boy Meets Hero! We're glad you are enjoying
the story so far.
It's so cool to hear from someone in Belgium! Take care!
July 24, 2006
will your comic illustrations ever be more than just pg 13?
Transmetals 2
AKA: The Phoenix
Thanks
for your question Transmetals 2, it is actually a very good one.
As
we have continued working on Boy Meets Hero we have added
small bits of nudity when we can. We went from simply showing
Derek & Justin
nude in profile, to showing Derek from behind in his shower,
and finally to
showing Derek full frontal in a non-sexual scene in the WHO decontamination
shower.
We feel that what we have shown so far has been fairly tame,
and we are planning a scene that would definately put our comic
into
a more "adult" category.
However, we do not plan to ever have any explicit imagery depicting
hard-core gay sex. We feel that sexuality is something beautiful
and let our readers determine what happens for themselves.
So thank you for bringing up a valid question regarding how much
we are going to show. We hope you are enjoying the comic and thank
you
for writing in!

Hey there. I came across Boy Meets Hero throuh GCL and was totally blown
away. I'm a sucker for gay superhero stories but your stand out becasue of the
great artwork and sophistocated storytelling.
I went to your links page and saw you only had a few banners. If you want,
I'd like to exchange banners with ya. I do a comic called Anti-Heroes at www.anti-heroes.net
Keep up the great work, man!

Chayne,
I just found your comic... It's wonderful. Is it for sale in regular comicbook
form? I am also curious if there is a part 2,3,4? Thanks for posting your wonderful
comic online, and I look forward to the next installment....again great job!
- Craig
Dear
Craig,
Thanks for writing to us! So far, Boy Meets Hero is only available
online. What we have posted is the entire story thus far. We continue
to work on it everyday and try to post a new page each week if we
can. We've completed about two issues worth of material and our initial
story arc will fill about two more. After it's finished, we do plan
on printing it all as a complete graphic novel. Thank you so very
much for your support!

Hi !
This is a sort message to congratulate about Boys meets Hero. I discovered the
comic thanks to a friend o mine.
I must say that it is true that a gay hero is summat really rare and it's
just helping our cause to show people that gay love has nowt to be ashamed of
and that it is just as beautiful as 'straight' love...And what a nice tool your
comic is to this purpose ;) !
So many thanks, sincere congratulation and keep up wi the good work!
yours most sincerly,

Hey guys,
I'm really enjoying "Boy Meets Hero"! It's a great combo of four-color
comic book fun with modern gay sensibilities, plus... hot guys! What's not to
like?
I'm disappointed to hear I'm the first reader to donate, since a comic like this
deserves support. I know what it's like to need the support of fans, so I try
and do what I can for the creators of the things I enjoy. If I'm willing to pay
$2.99 an issue for a DC or Marvel comic (although not always these days), a few
bucks for a comic like yours is no big deal.
Keep the faith and keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to more adventures
of Boy Meets Hero!

March
13th, 2006 Hi!
Your creation was previewed in the Prism Comics Portfolio which I got
from Zan for working on another project.. well, long story
short, it's a GREAT adventure and I can't wait to see what happens
next :)
I especially like seeing that your universe is populated by more than
just two superheroes (even if Zap-Man is a bit of a prick, but
who said all superheroes had to be polite optimists? :)) - populated
enough to have a huge world headquarters! Excellent! I
can see already how complex your world is going to be, but not so complex
that we lose focus on Justin and Derek (and Jillian, too).
- Sean
Hey
Sean,
Thanks for the great email! We're really glad that you've enjoyed
the comic so far.
It's great to
get someone's perspective on what we are setting up in our comic.
Glad you like it!
It really means a lot when we get fan mail! It's our only form of
feedback and so far it's all been positive.
Anyway, thanks again for writing and for liking our stuff!

I just say that your comic is the hottest f***ing thing I
have everseen ;) Butt
why don't you show more PENIS you should have one issue that is just
Derek and Justin f***ing like crazy. (or masturbating, give them both
double handers, and show every thing naked).
- Big Penis
Man
Dear
Mr. Man,
Thanks for writing to let us know you like our comic!
As far as showing any kind of graphic sexuality, we have opted to leave any
of that up to the reader's imagination. (And judging from your e-mail, you've
got quite a "handle" on yours!) So we don't plan on depicting anything
quite so... "arousing" as what you are suggesting!
Anyway, as consolation we do have a shower scene that features some hot male
frontal nudity. Hope you enjoy!

Hella,
I absolutely loved your comic, as an open minded bisexual person I find ease
to read, but I suppose that most heterosexual close minded people(W.Bush(lol))
would not be able to read the comic and would criticise it as bad influence
for children or something like that.
I would love to
read more.
And then again,
congrats for such a great idea, totally out of the box. lol. ;D Totally
loved it.
- Rod
Rod,
Thanks
for writing in to tell us how much you like our comic! We're
really glad that you're enjoying it so far.
We
are hoping that our comic will be well received by all sorts
of people after it is finished. It's our desire to show that
even gay people can be heroes, plus have a successful love
life! (And I think if you look hard enough, you will find that
most heterosexuals aren't as closed-minded as you think!)
Make
sure to visit our site again from time to time as we continue
the comic. We have a lot of fun stuff planned ahead!
Thanks

Hello Chayne,
I just wanted to email you and thank you for making this comic. Your artwork
and talent is truly awesome, and as an artist and avid comic reader myself,
this is the kind of Superhero comicbook artwork that I've always wanted to
create. Keep up the great work!
P.S.- Will you be updating again? I anxiously (and patiently) await the next
exciting episode.
Respectfully,
The 13th Phoenix
Dear
13th Phoenix,
Wow!
Thanks for the praise. I was really glad to receive your e-mail,
it totally made my day!
My
inspiration for Boy Meets Hero comes from having read thousands
of comics growing up and wishing there was a gay relationship
that I could relate to. I also love super heroes, (especially
the hot ones!) and I wanted to create characters that are heroic
and colorful.
My
partner Russ and I work everyday on this project and try to
add a new page every Monday. We have some exciting stuff coming
up, so stay tuned! We have planned out the main story arc and
will collect the web comic into a printed form once it is finished.
It's
awesome to hear from a fellow artist. I'm flattered that you
like Russell's and my artwork. We work hard on Boy Meets Hero
and our payoff is hearing that people enjoy what we create!
Thanks
so much for taking the time to write and let us know you like
the comic!
Sincerely,
Chayne

I
was surfing across random webcomics when I saw "Boy Meets Hero." I
think it's a fairly new idea, beautifully drawn, and just plain
great. I like it when things shed positive light on the gay community.
Hopefully
it'll continue, and I hope you don't mind the (rather plain) praise
I've given.
Travis P.
Dear Travis,
Thank you for writing us! It was great to get some fan-mail after
all of the hard work Russ and I put into the comic.
Shedding a positive light on the gay community is our highest
priority. I really want to let people know that gays can be heroes
too! And even though Blue Comet is afraid of his sexuality for
the time being, Justin will always be there to help him as
he discovers
his path!
Thank
you also for complimenting our art. We appriciate praise in any
form! Together, Russ and I put extra effort to make sure Boy
Meets
Hero is a good as we can make it.
We definitely plan to continue. Be sure to check back each Monday
as
we add a new page and further the adventures of Derek and Justin!

Great work!!!!! Love the look of you comic. I hope to see it printed. My name
is Roger Moore, but I go as R-Man. My comic site is www.manandroid.com. Its gay
science fiction...Check it out I would love your opinion. I give you a review
as well.
PS Would you like to trade links to our site?
Roger Moore
(a.k.a. R-Man)
Hi
and thanks for the compliment. It's always a rush to get praise,
especially from other comic creators. We checked out "Man
and Android" and thought it was awesome! Your story
is really funny and engaging! We'd love to trade links! We're
in the process of adding a few links on our home page so we'll
add manandroid.com once we get it updated.
It'll
be great to spread the word about our sites! Boy Meets Hero
is a work in progress and has many more pages until our story
is finished. So far we have 24 pages pencilled. We are shooting
for around 80 or so to finish the story. Once it is completed
we plan to print it in one collected graphic novel and then
try to get it into book stores and comic shops.
Thanks
again for liking our work! We'll be in touch!

And of course, a letter from Mom...
Wow! Fun, great
scripting and enough humor to make me chuckle. Keep it
up!
A fan all around.

Proof
positive that I have the coolest Mom in the world! Thanks for all
of the support you have always given Russ and me. Also, thanks for
all of the acceptance you have given us regarding our lifestyle.
