Well its not exactly gushing. I'm being honest.
Though
it does sound dirty - but that's my mind, I have sex on the
brain, it comes with the territory of a young
man who bottled up his sexuality for years
(I was about 6 months away from becoming a total Zack Savage when I came out
for the first time (its a recurring process with me).
Okay I
digress, I'm advising everyone to check your strip out like
I said you and Pride
High have top ratings with me since both have gay primary
characters
that aren't elbowed into a stereotype or shoved to the background once they
come out.
The skills
are insane and my only disappointment was when you took a
week off (damn you! lol) I can't get enough you just can't
post them fast enough!
Keep it up, I loved the latest plot twist - though Zack
seriously needs a boyfriend...where oh where are the hot
anti-heroes to woo the villains
when
you need them? :D
Okay backing off before a restraining order is needed
A huge Fan,

I love comic, characters, plot & all.
1) Is Derek really stronger now, or just back to normal, or worse, is he getting
weaker & what he feels is his energy surrounding him as it disipates away?
2) If all Justin needed was Derek's cosmic energy to trigger his power, then
why did it not happen before like the Isle of Love... did it need to gather
with repeated exposure or something?
3) Will Sunstar HAVE to date Zapman now?(hope not)
Omry, a fan
Omry,
Thanks for writing in. Here are the answers to your very cool questions:
1. Yes, Derek is now stronger. The sharing of his power with Justin has increased
his own. How much has yet to be determined.
2. Justin's power was lying dormant inside him since birth. His repeated
exposure while making love to Derek slowly drew his power to the surface.
It wasn't until Justin saw Derek in mortal danger that the power sparked
inside him. Having been in close resonance with Derek's powers, he was able
to pull them into himself before Zack could steal them.
3. No way in hell!!!
Hope that helps! Thanks for your interest into what's going on.

Hey guys,
I just ran across Boy Meets Hero online....don't know exactly how I found it,
just surfing around. I'm sort of a "fringe" comic geek....that
is, I collected from when I was about 5 years old (1970) until I went away
to college in '83. While in school at Berkeley, I worked at a couple
of comics stores, so I stayed connected. But after that point, I dropped
out of buying comics for myself.
And when I moved away, I bequeathed my entire collection to my baby brother,
who's also gay, and turned into a way bigger comic geek than me. In fact,
I just got off the phone with him hearing his tales of San Diego Con....his
8th year in a row. I catch up on my favorite titles when I visit him
in Southern California...he just hands me stacks of DC (and some Marvel) titles
and I stay up until 3 a.m. catching up with Legion and Supergirl, and all kinds
of gay stuff.
Anyway, like I say, I just stumbled across your site, and in the past couple
of nights read the entire story, and I have to say, I'm impressed. I
try to support this kind of thing...have been picking up Pride High at my local
comic shop, "Whatever," in the Castro, in San Francisco.
I really found both the art and the story for Boy Meets Hero to be very well
done, and entertaining.
I wanted to really give you guys kudos for your great work....And to ask, When
are you continuing the story? I'm dying to see what kind of costume/uniform
Justin comes up with, and follow his late-blooming evolution into a hero in
his own right. Lots of potential storylines with two hot gay heroes in a fledgling
relationship.
Also, are you ever going to publish a hardcopy, or stay online only? I
really think you have a good product.
My brother, one of his gay friends, and their 2 straight buddies are creating
a podcast, tentatively titled "Nerdgasmic! 'Mos & Bros," where
they'll give the gay (and gay-friendly) angles to topics related to comics,
movies, sci-fi, and pop culture. This year at the Con they began filming
and getting some interviews. (with the creators of Pride High, among
others) Would you be interested in them interviewing you? I just
turned my brother Eric onto your site, and suggested he read it.
Mainly I just wanted to congratulate you on a job well done! And I look
forward to seeing more!
Thanks,
David
David,
Thanks so much for writing in and enjoying our work! Receiving letters from
appreciative readers really helps keep us excited to work on Boy Meets Hero.
To answer some of your questions:
1. We post a new page every week usually Thursday evenings.
2. I'm actually working on the coloring for the new page which will feature
Justin's costume. We'll also reveal his superhero name in the next couple
of weeks.
3. We are going to publish a graphic novel collection hopefully early next
year. We've contacted some publishers and hoping to get it out there in a
big way.
4. We have a notebook FULL of new ideas for adventures for the BMH crew.
I think next year we'll begin to develop a hybrid of online/printed material.
The tentative plan is to self-publish individual comic issues after we get
the "Boy Meets Hero" graphic novel out there.
5. We'd love to be interviewed for your brother's podcast! Any kind of promotion
helps and free is our favorite kind :)
Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to send us such a thoughtful letter!
All the best,
Russ

Hi
Boys!
I love your comic sooo much! I have been reading it pretty much since the begining
and my only complaint is that it doesn't come out often enough. Once a week
is simply not enough for me! I think you both are doing an amazing job.
I also create my own comic book, it's totally Indy and it doesn't look as great
as yours does, but it's mine and I love it. It's called "So Super Duper" and
my first issue has just come out, my second is on it's way. I would love to
befriend you guys and help promote each other. We gays need to stick together!
:)
Brian

Brian!
Thanks for being such a long-time fan and for the online copy of your comic,
it was a blast to read! I had a huge smile the entire time reading it and
we both laughed out loud more than once. Also liked the twist with Psyche
not being gay (or at least in denial, lol) and the supposedly hetero Comet
lusting after him. Great job! We also agree with you that gay comic creators
really need to support each other.
We wish we had the time to produce more than one page a week too! Next year
we're going to publish the entire story as a graphic novel and then hopefully
move into an ongoing printed series.
Thanks again and keep up the great work!

Hey Guys,
Really really loving whats happening, though i must admit it really reinforced
the fact that it was a gay-intrest comic when the cliffhanger is what the superhero's
new outfit will be lol (p.s. i am DYING to know, so that wasnn't a critism)
Keep up the good work,
Tim
Hey
Tim,
Thanks for the compliments! Just wait, Justin's new threads are super-sexy!
Would a gay character have it any other way? ;) Although it was pretty hot
to have him fly around naked, (He could have called himself Gold Streak!)
I guess he does need to fit in with the rest of the hero community and wear
a costume... Hope you like it!

Hey Chayne and Russ! Haven’t been able to read some of your new
pages lately due to me learning a few new video game map development programs!
I love the work you guys are doing still and every page so far (up to 82) has
been really fun and interesting to read!
Gavin
Gavin,
Cool, video game mapping sounds fun! Glad you still like our comic up to
page 82. Hope you like the pages after that, too! lol
Anyway, thanks for writing again. Say hi to everyone for me.

Hey Guys~
Thought I'd drop a line and let you know I thought the gradient used on the
latest page of your comic was a nice touch. The one used in the hurays, and
alrights, and so forth coming from the crowd. I was also half expecting that
you wouldn't have a chance to upload the new page until tomorrow, but I was
surprised to find it was up-loaded yesterday, Huray for you guys getting the
next page done early, :^)
Ok,
later guys,
your friend,
Brian Burke
Hey
Brian,
Glad you liked the crowd's celebratory word ballons. Russ actually came up
with those and I think they turned out great myself! We do try our best to
get the pages out each week. Thanks for noticing it was up early!
All the best,

I admire your work a lot. I keep coming to your site every week to see the
new page... I wish you could have more pages done in less time, but I know
what is like... I'm a Graphic Designer myself... so I understand....
Keep on! Dude...
Manuel
Dear
Manuel,
Thank you for your sweet email! It's always great to get kudos from fellow

Hello. I just thought I'd send an e-mail, or I guess what could be considered

I adore it. It's really good, and rather addicting. I really hope
you update soon and keep the story coming!

I love seeing power transference! Well, I hope that's what's happened. Please
don't make Justin have had "latent powers"; I'd much rather see his
power be a side-effect of the blue comet sharing his
love with him.
-Gemini6Ice
Thanks
for writing in!! When we thought of giving Justing powers
over a year ago (!) we definitely wanted it to be as
a result of his love and connection with Derek (That's
why we hinted at it during the island sex scene when
Justin, who used to glow with the same blue energy that
Derek has suddenly started glowing a bright yellow.)
So, you'll see over the next few pages that what happened to Justin is sort
of a "Fusion" of the deep connection he has with Derek and some
latent powers inherited but never activated from Justin's superpowered parents.
Thanks for reading!!

become what he did but i love how you did it. anyway just had to write and
say i can not wait until next week to look at the page.

Hi there! A short while ago I messaged you to say how much I was loving
your comic, and I just felt like saying that I adore it even more now!
:D
I love how you guys handled Blue Comet being forced to come
out (and thought it was really amusing that the homophobic villain turned out
to be a closet case).
But WAAI! The Cliffies! I want to see what happens to Justin!!!
Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers,
Kirsten
Dear
Kirsten,
It's so great to hear that you adore our comic! Thanks for the compliment
regarding Blue Comet comming out. It was an incredibly important scene, and
I'm pleased that you and other fans have had great things to say about it!
And we thought it made perfect sense that the reason the villain hated Blue
Comet so much was because he was in love with him and couldn't have him.
Aren't "cliffies" great! they keep people coming back for more!
Hope you are enjoying Justin's exploits as they unfold.
Best wishes!

I really liked the last pages, even though I saw Justin's powers' "triggering-off" arrive
when reading his updated profile (BTW, you could have done new illustrations,
the cropped ones ain't got a good definition, cheeky, me? but eh the more I
love, the more I'm demanding ;°D ) & remembering the glowing love-making...
I discovered your comic at 2005 fall (nearly 2 years, waw!) the plot's better & better,
the style is neat, but (yes another complain, the last one I swear) I miss
the humourous graphic details (huge sweat drop on p.5 ...).
I hope you have lots in store to keep them busy for years to come...
Excuse the poor English but I'm French speaking.
Take care, with love from liege (Belgium),
Joey
Joey,
Glad you liked the page! We were hoping people would get a kick out of Justin
getting super powers and being able to help his boyfriend. We wanted to leave
a few clues that lead up to it and it's good to know that attentive readers
picked up on them.
The huge sweat drops are always fun to include. So far the intensity of the
finale hasn't had a place for them, that is until Justin realized that he
had been flying around naked in front of thousands of people!!! Hope you
enjoyed that!
Take care and best wishes!

Hey

Great to hear from you again. We knew that some of our loyal fans out there

Dear Chayne,
I am a avid reader of your online comic and love it. Keep up the super work
and job. Question. How can i get Pictures from you on the characters i like?
I draw and do rpg's off and on line. Here are two pic's i have done for my
gaming group.. how can i buy pictures of your characters to brag to my friends
about your marvelous work?
Sinerely,
Yantzy
Dear
Yantzy,
Thanks for your very kind words regarding my art. You don't know how much
that means to me! It's also great to hear that you are an avid reader of
BHM... great taste! lol
You are definitely very talented yourself! I love your illustration of Spider-Boy!
(I think that's who he is...) Anyway, he is very sexy! Thank you for sharing
your work.
So far, we don't have any printed comics containing our BMH characters. However,
because of your request, we are looking into selling signed prints at some
point in the near future. Hopefully we will be able to provide you with what
you are looking for. So keep an eye out for an announcement on our main page
once we figure out what we're going to do. In the meantime, we do have shirts
and mugs available through our Cafe Press store if you are interested.
Thanks again for contacting us here at BMH. Keep up your great work!
Best wishes!

Im not sure if you guys remember me, but I wrote a while back and I think my
letter was the 1st one to appear on the "Fan Male" thx for that honor
BTW :D
I just wanna say that Im still loving your comic, and now I like it even more,
you guys just rock :D
So now that I have PayPal I donated some cash, I'd give more, but My economical
situation aint great now, but I'll give us much as I can when I can :D
Actually while I was reading one of your episodes today, made me think how
(recently) confused I am about my sexuality. I've never been dis confused and
disoriented before. I know I like men, but I also find women attractive, but
the problem is that everyone around me tells me that I have to choose "sides" and
its getting very complicated one me, I really dont know what to think anymore,
some friends tell me one think thing and some tell me the opposite.
I thought a year back, that I'd never be making this kind of decisions, but
here I am... Thats how life is... The more you grow the more complicated it
gets :S
Do you guys think I should seek help with a psicologist or what? I really dont
know what to do or think anymore. Any advice?
Sorry to bother though, I know you guys are busy.
Love,
Rody
Rody,
Thanks for your donation and for continuing to be a fan of BMH!! As for your "confusion" all
I can offer is that sexuality is a complex thing and while there are people
who are 100% gay or 100% straight I think most of the world falls somewhere
in between. Being bi-sexual could be the best of both worlds but the most
important thing is to just be true to yourself. No matter what the Republicans
or religious right wingers say, there aren't any rules to sex or sexuality
so if you want to explore relationships with women go for it! BUT be upfront
with any potential partner about your desires for men so that you can avoid
any "Zack Savage" moments :)
Take it easy!

Hey, just wanted to say that I love your webcomic
It's right up there with the one that hath first taken my heart (Pride High)
and I'm just so impressed with it, when it was brought up on the pridecomics.com
forum I realized I'd been lazy and not kept an eye on it.
I kicked myself...literally.
I read it a while back and only now got caught up on what I missed. I loved
the plot turns and how real life mixed with superheroing.
I love it, its a polished super sexy piece of work, everything I could possibly
hope for with enough full and semi nudity yet no loss of plot! Amazing ;)
Just hoping for more updates poste haste
Totally hoping for a three way Zack/Justin/Derek ;) but that's just the kind
of mind I have. I'm either creating comic books or thinking of hot guys...thankfully
you've given me a good outlet to do both.
The story is strong
The characters are believeable (and I love believeable characters because there
are times I find it impossible to create them myself - you really make them
come alive, I amn't sure if I do so I can definitely say you've got mad skills)
The art is absolutely GORGEOUS!
And the pace is lively yet not rushed
Wow I've ranted.
Keep it up, you've got everything some of us (comicbook creator wannabes) are
still looking for.
Top Marks and fair props to ya
Go n-eirí an t-ádh libh (Good Luck)

"Hellion",
Thanks for saying we have "mad skills"! We love it when fans gush
over our work! (Does that sound dirty?)
Anyway, Thanks for taking the time to write in and let us know that you love
our comic! I think that comics and hot guys should go hand-in-hand, they
wouldn't be much fun otherwise!
Thanks for all of the wonderful things you said about our work, it makes
our day to hear such things!

I'm hooked on your story since it actually has a plot... Even though I liked
it from the beginning ;°)
I find Zack Savinski kinda cute with his glasses & running his hand on
his head from nervousness :°p
Have you been considering him turning 'good' again, maybe after confessing
being still gay? After being defeated, we want a fight, don't we... I can see
Justin giving a helping hand from the inside, litteraly.
I'd like to wish you the best (even with 2 months of delay) for your anniversary & ask
forgivness for my poor English, I'm French speaking & living in Belgium
(Liege) I had to learn Dutch (2d national language) in highscool =°(
See ya
Joey
Joey,
Thanks for writing to let us know you enjoy our comic! I think Zack is cute
too in his own "bad-boy" way. Zack is a frustrated individual who
takes out his problems on other people. I don't know if he will ever turn
good, but one never knows. He is too much in love with Blue Comet and too
deep in the closet. Plus, I don't think he gonna be too fond of Blue Comet
after he gets his butt kicked by him!
Take care and thanks for being a fan.

Dear Chayne & Russ,
Believe it or not, my life is following your comic. Today I told the person
I have always had a crush on that I am gay! He completely understood and said
that he didn't care. He is not gay himself but this comic like I have said
in the past has made an impact on my life. Thanks guys so much and keep up
the good work!
Sincerely,
Trevor
Trevor,
We were truly moved by your letter and are really proud our YOUR courage!
Coming out to friends and family can be frightening but they almost always
surprise us with their acceptance.
We are very humbled by your adoration of our work! Fans like you are the
reason why we continue to work on the comic. Part of our motivation for producing "Boy
Meets Hero" is to offer a positive portrayal of gay men and hopefully
offer some inspiration as well.
If your story is any indication, it seems like we're succeeding!
Stay proud and stay strong!

"You're killin' me, Smalls!"
But in this case; You're killin' me, Chayne!!! Ahhh, I can't wait until you
update this comic. I'm so excited! Oh...I hope the fans don't turn on Blue
Comet. And that stupid son of a batch of cookies Zack [yes, I am overreacting.
I get attached to comic book heroes]! Poor Justin! I'm gonna go crazyyyyy!
Aside from me wallowing in impatientness, I'm jealous of you and your mad skills.
I have spur of the moment drawings where I actually like how it turned out,
but that's rare! Your artwork is amazing! I love Justin and Derek to death!
It reminds me of my characters...except none of them have super powers ;].
But yeah...I wish I could draw feet and fingers and facial expressions as well
as you! Hell, I wish I could draw the male anatomy [somewhat anime-ish style
though], period!
So I shall shove off now. I can't wait until you get the next chapter up! Sorry
I haven't been around a lot, by the way. I'm sure you all know how school was,
right? Right.
Take care, Chayne and Russ! Love ya!
Sheldyn
Sheldyn,
Thanks for writing in!! We're love your enthusiasm! Zack is a whole lotta
crazy but don't worry Justin will be okay, Blue Comet on the other hand....
;)
I also wanted to offer a quick note of encouragement from a fellow frustrated

I guess that's why he keeps me chained to photoshop, lol.
Thanks for diggin our comic!!

Hey Guys~
So, Zack, in his own sick way, pushed Derek to come out of the closet, huh?
Hmm, maybe when all the fighting is done and Zack is behind bars for good this
time, Derek and Justin will show Zack there are no hard feelings by sending
him a muffin basket or a bouquet of flowers, and as a way for helping Derek
come out of the closet. No one is ever truely ready, sometimes an additional
push
IS needed.
I'm just mess'n with you guys, lol. (Kinda) lol.
Oh, but seriously, can we see the arm on the left side of the mech from a side
view, the one without any fingers; I'm trying to figure out if it's like a
claw, or just a gun.
Always, your friend,
Brian B.
Dear
Brian,
Yes, Zack did indeed push Blue Comet out of the closet. Zack has had a secret
crush on BC for a while. Since the fateful day that BC turned Zack down,
he has longed to get even. Finding out that BC was really gay that night
at the dance club gave Zack what he considered his ultimate revenge: outing
Blue Comet in front of the world. And as you pointed out, little did he realize
that he did BC a favor and actually empowered him. Maybe Derek should send
him some muffins and flowers!
Thanks again for being a fan, talk to ya later.
